The story of Barbara Phipps and how Affordable Vintage came to be.

In May, 1998 I opened my online vintage clothing site, Barbara's Backroom. I have been collecting vintage hats, dresses, and accessories for over 30 years. I love wearing vintage clothing, it is so much fun and straw hats are my favorite. My love of clothing came from my mother. I soon discovered I had too much to keep and that is when the website was started. My husband is an avid tool, country store and advertising collector and we have collected all over the U.S. I hope you enjoy the new look of the new Affordable Vintage site and happy shopping.
